McConnell House

What We Offer

Attention to detail has been the focus of the restoration of this historic home. From the moldings to the woodwork and trim. From the doors to the windows and floors, your guests will feel like they are stepping back in time to experience the true elegance of the period.

The McConnell House offers limitless photo opportunities, with many rooms to utilize. All rooms are true to the era. Our property includes rooms for brides and grooms to prepare for their special day. A magnificent wrap around porch for gathering or snacks, and even a grand piano room with stained glass windows to create the experience of a bygone era.

The building in the back was originally a livery/stable, with original stone work that we call "The Rock Barn". It predates the McConnell House, and is perfect for a larger gathering or wedding reception. Please check out the Rock Barn tab on our site.

McConnell House History

The McConnell House at 2057 Grayson-Lawrenceville Hwy, in Grayson Georgia, was built by J. P McConnell for his son Andrew “Uncle Buddy” McConnell in the mid to late 1890's. It is the foremost example of Victorian architecture left in Grayson today. The Andrew McConnell family moved from Grayson to the Stone Mountain area around 1909.

Alexander and Cora Cooper Webb bought the property around 1910. Alexander Webb was the son of Rev. Andrew J. Webb. Webb Ginn House Road earned it's name because it was the way farmers went to Rev. Webb’s cotton gin. After the death of Alexander Webb in 1941 and the death of Cora Cooper Webb in 1972, the home was rented several times, but then purchased by Steve and Patty Allen. The Allens eventually sold the property in 2001. After the sale, the home housed The Noble Hall Gift Shop and now the Gwinnett School of Music. Most of the original doors, moldings, mantels, and mill work are still beautiful, original and intact.
